POSTGRADUATE TRAINING PROGRAMME
PHILOSOPHY
In line with the philosophy of the University of Nigeria, the postgraduate Programme of the Institute of Molecular Medicine and Infectious Diseases emphasizes the production of postgraduate experts who are well grounded theoretically and practically in their specialized field of study. This is in order to be team leaders locally and internationally in research and practice in the areas of Molecular Medicine and Infectious Diseases & Vaccinology.
OBJECTIVE
The postgraduate Programmes are carefully developed to comprehensively; theoretically and practically equip the students with all they will need to function as lead Scientists, Researchers and practitioners in their chosen field of study. The Programme is also designed to expose the students to in-depth and current knowledge in the areas of infectious Diseases, Vaccinology and Molecular Medicine
SCOPE
The M.Sc degree Programme covers course work, to be examined in written papers and research work to be presented in a project report; both the course work and project constitute a total of 42 credit units for molecular medicine and 38 units for infectious diseases & vaccinology.
The PhD. /MD Programme shall be prosecuted by course work in the first year, and seminars in the second year. The third year is for the thesis. Both the course work/seminars and thesis constitute a total of 37 credit units for molecular medicine and 38 units for infectious diseases & vaccinology.
